The Patient Care Assistant will perform duties related to the preparation and post-exam care of patients for CT and MRI studies.

Perform duties related to the preparation and post-exam care of patients for CT and MRI studies.
Provide customer service.
Ensure patient completion of pre-screening documents.
Perform intravenous insertion where indicated.
Provide instructions to patients such as waiting or changing into a gown.
Perform basic patient care.

Graduate of certified medical laboratory assistant program or equivalent program including venipuncture.
Health sciences background with preference to candidates with medical radiation technology experience.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Venipuncture experience required.
CPR certification is an asset.
Customer service skills.
Knowledge of diagnostic imaging procedures, terminology and workflow including CT and MRI is an asset.
Knowledge of diagnostic imaging computer systems is an asset (i.e. PACS, RIS, HIS).
Knowledge of MRI safety and radiation safety practices is an asset.
Previous training on safe lifting and transferring techniques is an asset.
Computer knowledge.
