About the Role
As a Product Designer for the Lucie Marketplace, you will design and ship tools that help employers manage health plan contributions for their employees. You will focus on shaping the ICHRA experience, partnering with a Senior Product Designer and collaborating cross-functionally to deliver features from discovery through delivery. The ideal candidate has a strong visual design portfolio and experience designing complex enterprise software, data-intensive platforms, or workforce management tools. You can work autonomously, balancing execution speed with user empathy, and are comfortable leveraging AI-assisted tools like Claude Code alongside Figma.
Responsibilities
- Define user experiences for Oscar’s users, supporting the mission to make healthier lives affordable and accessible.
- Become an expert on product users and their journeys, advocating for their needs.
- Own the design process and partner with cross-functional peers to drive clarity around strategy and alignment on solutions.
- Collaborate with other product designers, providing feedback during critiques and contributing to the design team.
- Perform user research and usability testing to generate actionable insights for design decisions.
- Design visually compelling experiences and contribute to the Oscar design language system (Anatomy).
- Bring the Oscar brand to life in product experiences.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in Product/UX Design.
- 2+ concrete examples of designing and shipping complex web and mobile interfaces.
- 2+ years managing stakeholders directly.
- Experience with the healthcare space (Bonus).
- Proficiency in storytelling techniques such as animated prototypes or user flow diagrams (Bonus).
- Interest in design ethics, accessibility, and healthcare-related topics (Bonus).
- Genuine, inquisitive, humble, yet determined demeanor (Bonus).
- Evidence of contribution to internal tools, system workflows, and power-user interfaces (Bonus).
- Proven record of navigating technical constraints to deliver design solutions (Bonus).
- Experience with user research and prototyping (Bonus).
- Ability to translate requirements, goals, and research into simple and useful UI (Bonus).
