About the Role

Supervises and coordinates activities of paint line, assembly, and welding workers, applying in-depth knowledge of processes and production methods to ensure quality compliant end products.

Responsibilities

  • Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, appraising job results, and coaching employees.
  • Maintains optimum staff levels through selection and training, retaining talent by identifying developmental opportunities and fostering cooperation.
  • Maintains workflow by monitoring process steps, identifying variables, assigning personnel and resources, seeking cost reductions, and developing reporting procedures.
  • Completes production plans by scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting on shift production summaries.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards.
  • Ensures equipment operation by alerting maintenance for repairs and participating in evaluating new equipment.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and training direct reports on equipment and materials, and ensuring compliance with safety policies.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops.
  • Provides manufacturing information to management by compiling and analyzing production performance records and data.

Requirements

  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and effective manufacturing and distribution techniques.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools in a metal fabrication job shop.
  • Ability to anticipate and determine causes of delays and take appropriate action to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives.
  • Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems.
  • Apply excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to motivate, empower, and build trust with team members.
  • Proficient knowledge of assembly and machine processes.
  • Basic knowledge of computer programs, including Word, Excel, and Microsoft Office.
