About the Role

The Architecture & Design Specification Representative is responsible for expanding market awareness of the Richelieu brand and increasing sales by gathering and securing specifications from architects and designers. This role involves coordinating project aspects from specification to sales opportunity sharing, and building strong relationships with customers to position Richelieu as their all-inclusive provider.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and nurture strong relationships with architects and designers.
  • Schedule and conduct face-to-face and virtual meetings with clients to understand project needs and how Richelieu solutions can enhance results.
  • Gather and secure specifications in product categories including decorative hardware, lighting, sliding door hardware, laminate, solid surface, quartz, and premium panels.
  • Identify and analyze past specification patterns of current accounts to strengthen Richelieu's position as an inclusive supplier.
  • Provide educational training on products and industry developments to the A&D community.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, positioning yourself as the desired one-stop-shop.
  • Stay informed about Richelieu's product offerings, market conditions, and the competitive landscape.
  • Utilize sales support applications and systems, including proficient CRM use.
  • Travel regularly in the field, making in-person customer visits three to four days per week.
  • Potentially lift/push/carry items up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

  • Must live in the sales area.
  • Must have own independent, reliable transportation.
  • Successful experience as a Specification Representative or Designer (recent graduates with a design degree may be considered).
  • Ability to schedule and manage time effectively to produce results.
  • Proactive, high energy, coachable, with a strong work ethic.
  • Developed design, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • $80,000-$100,800 (base pay + bonus potential)
