About the Role

Novus is Pendo's new product designed to help fast-moving teams understand product usage and identify areas for focus. As the Lead Product Marketing Manager for Novus, you will be the end-to-end marketing lead and GTM owner, responsible for narrative, positioning, demand strategy, community presence, launch, and early commercial outcomes. This is a 0-to-1 role requiring someone to create and execute the playbook, driving clarity across product, sales, marketing, and leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Own the messaging, positioning, and talk tracks for Novus, including the breakthrough narrative, category story, and positioning documentation.
  • Build and execute the full go-to-market plan, encompassing audience targeting, channel strategy, campaign strategy, sales readiness, launch moments, and success metrics.
  • Partner with revenue marketing to define the acquisition channel mix, run campaigns, and drive early-access signups, connecting demand activity to conversion and commercial signals.
  • Build Novus' presence in developer forums, social channels, and through influencer relationships and event activation.
  • Partner with product and growth to design self-serve onboarding, activation flows, and freemium-to-paid conversion paths.
  • Define how Novus and Pendo coexist in the market and shape the customer journey between different user segments.
  • Develop materials, messaging, and proof points to enable sales and partner teams to engage effectively with product engineers.
  • Define and track metrics connecting Novus activity to pipeline and early revenue outcomes, focusing on activation, conversion, and marketing-sourced ARR.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of marketing experience with ownership of product or category positioning and narrative at the individual contributor level.
  • Proven ability to drive a launch, repositioning, or category story end-to-end, including writing and strategic thinking.
  • Strong content instincts with the ability to create engaging narratives, positioning documents, and launch materials.
  • Active, practical fluency with AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) demonstrating meaningful impact on work processes and output.
  • High bias to action with a track record of shipping, gathering feedback, iterating, and filling gaps proactively.
  • Ability to translate technical depth into clear, compelling messaging for a novel product.
  • Strong cross-functional influence with product, sales, marketing, and leadership stakeholders, driving alignment without direct authority.
  • Experience with PLG motions, including self-serve acquisition, freemium conversion, activation, or community-led distribution.
