About the Role
Professional Medical Practice, P.C. is seeking an Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC-T, CASAC, CASAC2) for the medical department at the Monroe County Jail in Rochester, NY.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, coordinate, and implement the behavioral health program.
- Liaise between medical staff and facility staff regarding Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT).
- Engage patients in therapeutic interventions for substance use concerns.
- Facilitate group and individual sessions for patients in the MAT program.
- Assist with the detection and prevention of patient suicide.
- Document patient encounters using the SOAPE note format.
- Collaborate with facility staff on discharge planning for MAT program patients.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case consultations.
- Serve on the Quality Assurance Committee and sub-committees, assisting with standards and audit criteria.
- Participate in various medical unit and facility committees as needed.
Requirements
- Must be certified as an Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC-T, CASAC, CASAC2).
- Bachelor’s Degree / Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or other related Human Services degree with a concentration in drug and alcohol coursework.
- Minimum one (1) year clinical experience preferred.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to function independently and demonstrate clinical competency.
- Ability to gain patient trust and build a working relationship.

- $24.00- $28.80 per hour
