About the Role
Under the direction of the RN, assists in providing nursing services to residents within a trauma-informed environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing services to residents.
- Monitor facility to ascertain resident activities and general status.
- Initiate appropriate action to ensure resident and facility safety and well-being.
- Document significant activity in the clinical log.
- Assess and monitor residents experiencing signs and symptoms of withdrawal using appropriate scales.
- Provide crisis intervention counseling to residents as needed and document sessions.
- Complete resident incident/accident or medical emergency forms.
- Answer phones and provide assistance.
- Meet regularly with RN/Health Coordinator for supervision.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- NYS Licensed Professional Nurse.
- Experience working with individuals with substance abuse and trauma disorders.
- Familiarity with military culture preferred.
- Adhere to Sanctuary commitments.
