About the Role

Act as the ‘Chief Financial Officer’ of the project, providing financial leadership and representing Finance within the PMO. Support Project Management with economical, financial, and administrative tasks, including cost control, financial management, and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor project progress, identify commercial opportunities and financial exposure.
  • Highlight potential project cost impacts and recommend corrective actions.
  • Manage contract changes and prepare related financial data.
  • Prepare claims.
  • Interface with customers on billings, contract changes, and other commercial matters.
  • Ensure project compliance with commercial terms and conditions.
  • Provide analytical support during commercial negotiations.
  • Perform special project assignments.
  • Ensure cost control and compliance with company policy.
  • Produce monthly project reports and forecast packages.
  • Perform monthly control checks and reconciliations.
  • Manage project treasury functions, including cash flow and foreign exchange exposure.
  • Manage project financial instruments.
  • Analyze and reconcile inventory accounts.
  • Develop project budgets and contract change budgets.
  • Prepare billing and monitor invoice control.
  • Prepare monthly and annual forecasts and budget plans.
  • Maintain internal controls and contract documentation.
  • Support external audit requirements.
  • Perform project accounting functions and government compliance reporting.
  • Reconcile project-specific general ledger accounts.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in accounting/finance, preferably in a project-oriented business.
  • Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Arts (major in Accounting).
  • Professional Accounting Designation (CMA or CGA) or MBA.
  • Experience in long-term project accounting.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Word.
