About the Role
Arista Networks is seeking a collaborative, self-motivated Pre-Sales Network Systems Engineer or Network Architect to partner with Account teams, providing pre-sales technical support for enterprise/financial service customers in the NYC Metro area. This role is critical in acting as a trusted advisor, identifying opportunities, gathering requirements, and architecting solutions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct Arista product presentations on Data Center, Cognitive Campus (including Wi-Fi), CloudVision, Security, Endpoint Security, and Real-time Fabric Monitoring solutions.
- Perform network architectural reviews, identify pain points, and suggest improvement plans and solutions.
- Collaborate with Account Managers on sales strategies and solution identification.
- Architect, design, and propose Arista Data Center & Campus network solutions.
- Engage customers in Proof of Concept (POC) testing, including functional and failure testing.
- Provide design guidelines and recommend network improvements.
- Engage with customers during network outage escalations, interfacing between Customer, TAC, and Dev teams.
- Partner with the Sales Team to respond to RFP/RFQs.
- Provide feedback to Product Management and Engineering.
- Represent Arista at SDN and Open Networking industry events and conferences.
- Stay updated on competitive solutions, products, and services.
- Author white papers on technology and products.
Requirements
- BS/CS/CE technical degree required.
- Minimum of 5+ years of L2/L3 networking design and implementation experience with a focus on Data Center, Campus, and Wi-Fi solutions.
- Expert level experience with routing and switching including L2/L3 protocols.
- Recent experience in leaf-spine architecture design.
- Demonstrated work experience as either a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales SE or Network Consulting Engineer preferred.
- Expert knowledge in Ethernet, RSTP/ MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EVPN, VxLAN, Multicast, QoS.
- Good understanding of the competitor technology landscape (Cisco, Juniper, HP).
- Expert level knowledge of industry-standard CLI.
- Experience with SDN and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) highly desired.
- Previous experience building network automation using Python and Ansible desired.
- Knowledge of competitive products, solutions, and services.
- Ability to write white papers a plus.
