About the Role
The Facilities Technician will operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and perform basic maintenance on building systems including HVAC, boilers, chillers, pumps, and compressed air equipment. This role supports preventive maintenance programs, responds to facility issues, and ensures a safe and reliable working environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily inspections and operational checks on HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, pumps, and compressed air systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control issues related to building systems.
- Monitor system performance and adjust to optimize efficiency and reliability.
- Respond promptly to facility-related breakdowns or alerts, taking corrective action as necessary.
- Attend to basic building repairs, caulking works, light piping works, assembling or relocating accessories, equipment, and furniture.
- Assist in loading and unloading equipment, accessories, or furniture.
- Perform minor repair work for scopes under Facilities as directed by the Facilities Supervisor/Manager.
- Carry out scheduled PM tasks on HVAC, chiller, boiler, and related facilities equipment.
- Replace filters, belts, and other consumable components as per maintenance schedules or as and when required.
- Document all maintenance activities in the CMMS.
- Identify potential issues before they become major problems and escalate as needed.
- Coordinate and oversee contractors performing specialized maintenance or repairs.
- Ensure all work is completed according to Riverside’s standards and safety requirements.
- Maintain records of service contracts, completed work, and equipment warranties.
- Assist, host, or escort contractors for any interventions on Riverside’s Premises.
- Conduct and log daily building system checks, documenting temperature, pressure, and operational readings.
- Track system performance trends and report deviations to the Facilities Supervisors/Manager.
- Recommend and implement improvements for energy efficiency and equipment reliability.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures while performing work.
- Participate in safety meetings, hazard assessments, food safety workshops, and workplace inspections.
- Ensure that equipment rooms and work areas are kept clean, organized, and safe.
Requirements
- At least a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years’ hands-on experience in building systems maintenance with a strong focus on HVAC, boilers, and chillers.
- Basic Knowledge and Skills in Electrical.
- Solid troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electrical components of HVAC, chiller, and boiler systems.
- Working knowledge of pumps, compressed air systems, and related auxiliary equipment.
- Experience with daily operational checks, performance monitoring, and PM scheduling.
- Understanding of basic mechanical, electrical, and control principles.
- General Handyman Skills.
