About the Role
The Syracuse City School District is seeking a dedicated and diverse team of educators to partner in moving the district toward its goals of ensuring all students graduate high school ready for college and career. The district offers 120 athletic teams for students in grades 7-12, with a coaching staff dedicated to working with student athletes.
Responsibilities
- Assist in coaching JV Football for Corcoran High School during the Fall 2026 season.
- Develop student athletes' skills, discipline, enjoyment of play, competition, and understanding of hard work.
- Foster academics, goal setting, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship at the high school level.
- Encourage maximum participation and skill development in modified programs for grades 7-8.
- Prepare student athletes for higher levels of competition.
Requirements
- Must pass a fingerprint-based background check ($102.50 cost to candidate).
- New York State Coaching Certification required.
- Valid First Aid course accepted as meeting NYS Coaching requirements.
- Valid Adult CPR certification accepted as meeting NYS Coaching requirements.
- Completion of Child Abuse Identification workshop.
- Completion of School Violence Intervention and Prevention workshop.
- Completion of Dignity For All Students Act (DASA) workshop.
- Fingerprint Clearance.
- School District Recommendation.
