About the Role

This role coordinates and oversees daily technical operations within the Cardiovascular Services department. The incumbent performs diagnostic cardiologic and EEG examinations, conducts quality control procedures, and fulfills ancillary duties to deliver high-quality patient care across all age groups.

Responsibilities

  • Assume responsibility for daily departmental operations to ensure quality, efficiency, and timeliness of EKG/EEG services.
  • Coordinate and ensure smooth workflow by planning schedules, adjusting for emergencies, and arranging special exams.
  • Compile and maintain department records related to quality control, patient care monitoring, and department logs.
  • Order and maintain adequate inventory to support departmental functions.
  • Foster positive staff relationships, resolve conflicts, and communicate recommendations to improve service quality.
  • Assist with orientation and training of new employees and students.
  • Assist coworkers and accept additional assignments as needed to support department efficiency.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to supervisor requests and hospital policies.
  • Perform all EKG/EEG procedures per departmental guidelines and medical director instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Review patient history to tailor procedures to individual needs and ensure accurate diagnostic outcomes.
  • Provide clear explanations to patients regarding procedures, addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Recognize and address potential safety hazards, maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Adhere to universal precautions, infection control, and quality assurance policies.
  • Respond professionally to emergencies and assist with lifting or moving patients.
  • Serve as a liaison between medical staff, nursing units, and other departments for seamless information transfer.
  • Notify patients of delays and coordinate with other departments to sequence procedures efficiently.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, respect, and courtesy toward patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Represent the hospital positively by maintaining a caring and courteous demeanor.

Requirements

  • Requires a minimum of three years as a Certified EKG Technician.
