About the Role
Hyperbaric technologists have direct interaction with patients and oversee their care process daily. They are invaluable to creating and maintaining a safe and extraordinary experience at Hyperbaric Medical Solutions. This role involves reinforcing patient education, maintaining documentation, performing chamber operations, and providing therapy orientations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare for each HBOT session to ensure a safe and comfortable treatment experience
- Reinforce patient education for hyperbaric therapy
- Maintain complete and accurate patient treatment documentation
- Perform hyperbaric chamber operations and system maintenance
- Provide therapy and equipment orientations during new patient consultations
- Maintain a clean and presentable work environment
- Assist patients with their needs, providing high-quality service
Requirements
- Must be New York State certified and/or licensed or hold a diploma from an accredited institution
- Minimum of six (6) months experience as a Paramedic, EMT-I, or EMT-B
- Must hold current BLS certification
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within a collaborative care environment
- Must show critical thinking, technical, and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to interact with patients and their families in a manner that instills confidence and facilitates communication
- Flexibility to work at different locations in the area
- Must have reliable transportation
- Available for occasional work outside of regularly scheduled hours
- Physically able to lift 25 lbs.
- Strong computer skills are necessary
