About the Role

As a Senior Statistical Programmer at Bristol Myers Squibb, you will be instrumental in transforming clinical data into life-changing decisions. Your programming expertise will directly shape the development, regulatory review, and approval of new medicines, impacting patients globally. This role offers the opportunity to be a key technical voice within the Global Biometrics & Data Sciences (GBDS) function, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Write and validate SAS programs to generate derived analysis datasets and clinical Tables, Figures, and Listings (TFLs).
  • Contribute to electronic submission preparation for regulatory milestones (NDA, BLA, MAA).
  • Review and shape key planning documents such as Statistical Analysis Plans (SAPs) and Data Presentation Plans.
  • Partner with vendors on programming standards, specifications, and file transfers.
  • Independently lead programming assignments across multiple projects with minimal supervision.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and consistency within the GBDS function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Life Sciences.
  • Demonstrated industry experience in statistical programming.
  • Strong, proven proficiency in SAS for producing derived analysis datasets and TFLs.
  • In-depth understanding of clinical data structures, including CDISC standards (SDTM, ADaM) and relational databases.
  • Hands-on experience with upstream data handling, including multiple data forms, eDC, workflow, and SDTM.
  • Ability to deliver downstream outputs including ADaM datasets, Data Definition Tables, and e-submission packages.
  • Confidence with tools such as MS Office, XML, and Pinnacle 21.
  • Solid grasp of regulatory, industry, and technology standards.
  • Familiarity with statistical terminology, clinical trial methodology, medical terminology, and protocol designs.
  • Strong team player with effective communication skills.
