About the Role
LGT Wealth Management UK LLP is seeking a Quality Assurance professional to define and lead the QA approach, automation strategy, and quality objectives for assigned products and initiatives. This role champions a risk-based, shift-left quality culture, ensuring test planning starts early and requirements are testable. The position involves producing comprehensive test plans, leading hands-on testing execution, and owning the test automation strategy.
Responsibilities

- Champion a risk-based, shift-left quality culture.
- Establish and evolve QA standards, test design practices, automation principles, quality gates, and reporting.
- Provide clear recommendations on test scope, residual risk, release readiness, and quality trade-offs.
- Lead the analysis of requirements, specifications, and technical designs.
- Produce and assure comprehensive test plans covering manual, automated, functional, and non-functional testing.
- Design, review, and maintain high-quality test cases, test data, and test scripts.
- Lead hands-on execution of system, integration, regression, smoke, exploratory, and acceptance testing.
- Coordinate test activities across releases and dependencies.
- Own and implement the team’s test automation strategy for assigned products.
- Evaluate, introduce, and embed AI-assisted testing tools.
- Design, develop, review, and maintain robust automated tests and reusable test utilities.
- Work with DevOps and engineers to embed automated tests, quality gates, and actionable reporting into CI/CD pipelines.
- Diagnose complex failures and defects; lead effective triage, support root-cause analysis, and verify fixes.
- Provide technical leadership, coaching, peer reviews, and day-to-day guidance to QA engineers.
- Partner with developers, product managers, architects, and stakeholders to resolve quality risks.
- Drive measurable improvements to QA processes, test efficiency, automation coverage, defect prevention, and quality metrics.
- Produce and present concise test status reports.

- Practical, hands-on experience leveraging AI-assisted tools to speed up testing.
- Demonstrated experience leading QA activities for complex products or multiple concurrent deliveries.
- Proven ability to coach QA engineers, conduct peer reviews, and raise engineering and quality standards without direct line-management responsibility.
- Strong experience of smoke, regression, system integration, functional, exploratory, and non-functional testing, with a risk-based approach.
- Practical experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and with DevOps practices.
- Advanced proficiency with test-management and defect-tracking tools (e.g. Xray, TestRail and Jira).
- Strong hands-on experience with automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress or Selenium, and with API testing tools such as Postman, Swagger or SoapUI.
