About the Role
Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking individuals to join their team in Rochester, NY, contributing to the production of essential lab plastics and Nalgene® products. This role is part of the Laboratory Products Division, supporting various scientific and research sectors.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, assemble, and pack products under the direction of the Manufacturing Supervisor.
- Become familiar with product lines and identify visual defects to reject non-conforming parts.
- Visually inspect bottles and make quality decisions.
- Recognize and report out-of-spec production to supervisors.
- Perform 15-minute inspections of high-volume production.
- Set up work areas as controlled environments, adhering to specific attire requirements.
- Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean production environment.
- Maintain necessary production paperwork, including 15-minute inspection forms and MQC sheets.
- Work to established QC samples.
- Alert Supervisors/Team Leads or Set-up personnel to emerging problems.
- Adhere to all company and departmental work and safety rules.
- Operate any machine or perform any operation within the assigned department.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1 year of work experience in a manufacturing, operations, production, lab setting or related field preferred.
- 0-1 year of work experience in a manufacturing, operations, production, lab setting or related field.
- Must be able to read, write, and understand the English language.
- Must be able to perform simple math such as add and subtract whole numbers.
- Must have excellent hand/eye coordination skills.
- Ability to lift and load pallets with weights up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to work in a high-speed, repetitive production environment.
- Must be able to work well with others in a team environment.
