About the Role

This is a posting for an existing job vacancy. A cleaner is generally responsible for cleaning work including the cleaning of all hard floor surfaces, the cleaning of all surfaces that must be reached by ladder or scaffolding and the collection and removal of garbage from drop points to a garbage bin or compactor.

Responsibilities

• Dry mops, wet mops, and polishes hard surface floors using various machines.
• Strips and finishes hard surface floors manually or with power equipment.
• Transports garbage from dropping points to garbage bins or compactors, and operates/cleans the compactor.
• Transports maintenance machinery between floors and job sites.
• Cleans glass areas requiring ladders, scaffolding, or extension equipment.
• Cleans washroom floors, including washing, stripping, and finishing.
• Cleans stairwells and elevator cabs where ladders are required.
• Washes walls and ceilings, and dusts ceiling light fixtures and fans.
• Uses pile lifting equipment to restore carpets.
• Shampoos broadloom and uses extracting equipment to clean broadloom.
• Attends all required health & safety training.
• Follows safe work instructions and assists in prevention.
• Complies with H&S regulations and company policies.
• Operates equipment only after prior training.
• Uses all required PPE where indicated.
• Reports any unsafe conditions, hazards, and workplace injuries.
• Participates in the early and safe return to work process.
