About the Role
This position assists the Designer and Design Director in the day-to-day operations of the design department.
Responsibilities
- Create swatch books for all fabrics and trim used in design.
- Maintain an up-to-date picture record of all samples and an up-to-date file of all names and style numbers.
- Check in all orders received and handle all shipping.
- Keep all sample rooms organized.
- Track all sample orders and ad samples.
- Collaborate in sketching and detailing.
- Collaborate in designing the product line.
- Create line sheets.
- Prepare correspondences, spreadsheets, and forms.
- Communicate with vendors.
- Assist in the confirmation process.
- Assist in brand direction and trend forecasting.
- Domestic and International travel.
- Special projects as needed.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- Ability to perform complex verbal and written communications face-to-face and in group settings.
- Decisions are made utilizing established policies and procedures, concerning self and/or work responsibilities.
- Work responsibilities occasionally concern confidential and/or sensitive information requiring discretion.
- Job duties are varied, occasionally requiring conceptualizing, planning, and implementing.
