About the Role

This new position is designed to manage, shape, and expand the future of RA’s music curation across all channels, evolving RA's music section to meet the changing landscape of reviews and coverage. The role requires strong editorial judgment, production skills, and a deep curiosity for electronic music to maintain RA’s connection to the underground through forward-thinking coverage and reactive writing on new releases. You will collaborate with various teams to enhance how music is discussed across web platforms and social media, offering an original thinker and rigorous worker a chance to evolve RA's tastemaking legacy for the 2020s.

Responsibilities

  • Provide editorial judgment and direction for RA's music coverage, including curation and reinvigoration.
  • Collaborate with Editorial, Content, and GCN teams to revolutionize and expand music coverage across recommendations and criticism.
  • Plan coverage by tracking upcoming releases, artist activity, key anniversaries, and tentpole events.
  • Maintain scene knowledge, tracking cultural shifts and identifying rising or falling trends in global club culture markets.
  • Lead commissioning, production, and publication of all music coverage on ra.co.
  • Liaise with contributors to improve quality and turnaround through commissioning, editing, and relationship management.
  • Act with speed on short-lead or surprise releases.

Requirements

  • Proven production skills and sharp editorial judgment, with the ability to make clear decisions on coverage.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to deliver on deadline.
  • Experience commissioning and managing contributors in different territories and timezones.
  • Collaborative and organized, working effectively with Editorial, Content, and Social partners.
  • Comfortable on camera for presenting, recording, and recommending music on video (bonus).
  • Must be based in London.
  • Required to work from the office three days per week.
