About the Role

Material Handlers are responsible for the movement and shipping of materials from receiving to outbound shipments, performing inventory transactions, and retrieving data using inventory control systems. This role is crucial for ensuring orders are scheduled, trucks are loaded, and deliveries are confirmed, directly impacting shipment timeliness and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate material verification and documentation content.
• Complete compliance training and certifications for assigned areas.
• Complete Area checklists as needed.
• Control material damage and inspect trailers before loading or unloading.
• Report abnormalities to the appropriate Specialist or Supervisor.
• Identify inventory discrepancies and take corrective action.
• Perform pack and mark audits to ensure quality of incoming commodities and drugs.
• Assist personnel in resolving material discrepancies.
• Maintain safe operation of all equipment and follow area safety guidelines.
• Report safety-related items to the Specialist or Supervisor.
• Operate material handling equipment including fork trucks, palletizers, taping machines, stretch wrapping machines, vacu-hoist, pallet banding, yard tractor, bailer, and tank farm pumping equipment.
• Perform manual operations such as de-palletizing, debagging, labeling, and commodity rack movement of work-in-process materials.
• Unload raw materials from trucks and railcars and locate them appropriately.
• Package and palletize commodities and subassemblies for export shipments.
• Record data and verification on work orders, finished goods orders, picks, and moves.
• Safely and effectively operate fork trucks, battery changing equipment, vacu-hoist, stretch wrapping machine, taping machine, palletizer, yard tractor, bailer, banding equipment, and tank farm pumping equipment.
• Interact directly with external customers including carriers, truck drivers, railroad engineers, and contractors.
• Respond timely to production schedule changes and customer needs to prevent operational downtime.
• Participate in departmental huddles and the area 5S program.
• Participate in area continuous improvements, including standard work instructions.
• Attend company-facilitated training.
• Adhere to cGMP guidelines, SOPs, plant policies, and rules.
• Provide assistance, training, and back-up support to all related Materials Management jobs.
• Observe all Federal and State Motor Carrier and plant safety rules and regulations.
• Report any incident or injury to the Specialist or Supervisor immediately.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

• Must be able to obtain fork truck license and operate required material handling equipment.
• Must be able to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Must have demonstrated knowledge of inventory control systems and Microsoft Office Suite (word, excel, outlook).
• Must be able to obtain Class A Texas operator’s license.
• Must be able to work in a team environment.
• Able to work overtime and quickly adjust to priority changes.
• Must be able to operate fork truck in confined areas where robos, racks and other fork trucks are in operation, under all types of weather conditions.
