About the Role

User Rights is Europe's first out-of-court dispute resolution body specializing in social media, established under the EU's Digital Services Act. We handle over a thousand complaints monthly regarding platform decisions like content removal or account suspension. We are growing rapidly and seek a leader to scale our operations and strengthen our organizational structure.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement structures, processes, and tools to support scaling operations and future growth.
  • Ensure high standards in data privacy, IT security, tooling, procurement, and internal processes.
  • Drive the responsible use of AI within the company.
  • Manage and develop the Operations department, building necessary support structures and external partnerships.
  • Co-manage the operational steering of the case review team with the VP Case Review, developing an operating model for increased case volumes.
  • Oversee the People department, focusing on efficient recruiting, performance cycles, and leadership support.
  • Develop and execute the playbook for international expansion, including operational setup, compliance, processes, hiring, and financial integration.
  • Collaborate closely with the VP Case Review, Head of Finance, People and Operations lead, and Director for Product.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in building structures, processes, and teams during a growth phase, ideally scaling from 30 to 300 employees.
  • Ability to engage with regulated and legal matters, with a strong understanding of data privacy and information security.
  • Leadership style focused on results and clarity, with effective delegation of responsibility.
  • Clear and audience-appropriate communication skills, suitable for team, management, and external stakeholder interactions.
  • Skill in guiding people through change.
  • Data-driven decision-making with transparent criteria.
  • Ability to remain structured and calm under pressure.
  • Excellent German (business fluent) and outstanding English language skills.
  • Experience in international expansion, including site setup, partner models, or establishing business operations, is advantageous.
  • Experience in consulting or a leading role in a large tech company is advantageous.
