About the Role
The Environmental Service Worker II cleans and services patient, public, clinical, and administrative areas, maintaining an attractive appearance. This role involves moving furniture, equipment, and supplies, performing general maintenance, and responding to emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Cleans and services patient, public, clinical, and administrative areas.
- Maintains an attractive appearance in all areas.
- Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies around the Medical Center.
- Performs a variety of Environmental Services duties to maintain the Medical Center in a safe, orderly, and sanitary condition.
- Provides general maintenance using manual and electrical tools.
- Responds to emergencies related to Medical Center operations, fire safety, and utility failure when directed.
Requirements
- Ability to read labels and directions.
- Personal vehicle for on-the-job transportation may be required for some assignments.
- Ability to do basic math sufficiently to mix chemicals.
- High School diploma or G.E.D. or demonstrated ability to qualify for reading and math requirements.
- Completion of necessary orientation to Environmental Service Worker I.
- Demonstrates knowledge and maintains department standard of work as Environmental Service Worker I by passing QA scores of 95%.
- Ability to use various size ladders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with little direction/supervision to complete tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to work directly with customers with an open line of communication.
- As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided.
