About the Role
This role supports cargo operations and addresses all cargo office requirements in Australia.
Responsibilities
- Manage station ULD inventories and liaise with Cargo Network Control YYZ, GHA, to ensure sufficient equipment for cargo operations.
- Implement load plans and coordinate with warehouse/ramp teams for optimal space/weight utilization per flight.
- Monitor GHA data entries for timely performance.
- Verify shipment/ULD data in cargo and load control systems.
- Ensure GHA activities align with Air Canada’s safety policy and SOP.
- Maintain good relationships with interline carriers for smooth cargo transfer.
- Monitor Cargo iQ scores and implement corrective actions.
- Support and monitor GHAs in load planning and entry into weight & balance systems.
- Monitor and coordinate ramp activities.
- Respond to import/export customer inquiries and inquiries from other stations regarding cargo in/out of Australia.
- Handle irregularities and operational disruptions.
- Maintain and arrange replenishment of office forms, labels, stationery, and other administrative supplies.
- Monitor ULD build-up for sensitive product shipments (VAL, HUM, AVI, etc.) to prevent incidents.
- Monitor uncleared AWB lists and coordinate with GHA and overseas offices for closure.
- Provide ramp supervision for loading.
- Work under a roster system.
- Coordinate with GHA and sales teams on ULD build-up to maximize space and weight utilization.
- Ensure cargo safety and security by verifying shipment documents for compliance with AC standards and SOP.
- Coordinate with all parties, including GHA, and take necessary actions like rebooking cargo during aircraft on ground situations.
- Establish rapport with GHA representatives.
- Participate in regular meetings with GHAs to discuss issues.
- Perform other job-related tasks and duties assigned by the Manager.
Requirements
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the country of interest at the time of offer and are responsible for obtaining any required work permits, visas, or other authorizations.
- Candidates will need to provide proof of eligibility to work in the country of interest prior to their start date.
- Fluent in English, oral and written.
- Any other languages are an asset.
Skills
- Good airfreight industry knowledge.
