About the Role
We’re looking for a proactive and customer-focused Field Service Engineer to join our Aftermarket team. This is a mobile role where you’ll be responsible for servicing, repairing, and maintaining specialist vehicles at customer sites and company workshops, ensuring they are safe, compliant, and operating at peak performance.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair faults on vehicle chassis and mounted equipment
- Carry out servicing and maintenance to a high standard
- Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections and ensure compliance with Department Of Transport specifications
- Use diagnostic software and tools to identify and resolve issues
- Log all work using PDA software and maintain accurate service records
- Travel to customer sites across the UK, sometimes at short notice
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times
- Communicate clearly with customers and provide excellent service
- Support health and safety practices and complete risk assessments as required
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance
- Previous experience in a similar role (Field Service, HGV Mechanic, Workshop Engineer)
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Knowledge of vehicle technology systems and compliance standards
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Flexible with working hours and willing to travel
- General computer literacy and ability to complete technical documentation
- Experience with electric vehicles, IRTEC qualification, or HGV Class 2 licence is a bonus

- £51,831.00 - £53,445.60 pa DOE
