About the Role

Help create unforgettable visits at two of London’s most unique museums, making every visitor feel welcome, informed and inspired. As a Visitor Experience Assistant, you’ll be the friendly face greeting everyone who walks through the doors of Leighton House and Sambourne House. You’ll ensure a warm, professional and safe welcome, helping visitors get the most from their time with us.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver great service and ensure a safe and enjoyable visitor experience.
  • Staff the front desk, assist with access needs, and provide information about buildings, exhibitions, and facilities.
  • Assist with retail operations, including using the till, managing stock, and fulfilling online orders.
  • Help set up for public events.
  • Monitor the general upkeep of museum spaces.
  • Support the wider museum team and work with colleagues and volunteers to maintain museum appearance and welcoming atmosphere.

Requirements

  • Passion for arts, heritage, or culture.
  • Enjoyment in giving people a great experience.
  • Previous customer service experience (hospitality, retail, or events).
  • Confident communication with a wide range of people.
  • Organised, adaptable, and calm under pressure.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Sound IT skills.
  • Willingness to be hands-on.
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Ability to show initiative.
  • Positive, can-do attitude.
