About the Role

Albany ENT & Allergy Services is seeking a motivated Appointment Specialist to manage patient scheduling, communication, and record-keeping in a fast-paced medical environment. This role is crucial for ensuring smooth patient flow and effective communication between patients and healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and reschedule appointments over the phone.
• Maintain communication between physicians and patients.
• Monitor and distribute provider schedules.
• Register new patients and verify insurance eligibility.
• Ensure patients provide pre-visit documentation and referrals.
• Collaborate with referring providers to ensure appropriate care plans.
• Answer and triage calls, manage record keeping, and filing.
• Update and maintain accurate electronic medical records prior to patient visits.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience in a medical environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient computer skills, including the ability to master practice management software.
• Consistent professional conduct, meticulous attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and a positive attitude.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
• Must reside in the greater Capital region of NYS.
