About the Role
Seeking a Metal Shop Assembler responsible for fabricating, assembling, and modifying metal products using various technologies, materials, and shop equipment. The ideal candidate possesses hands-on metal fabrication experience, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize daily work order assignments
- Review job Bills of Materials (BOMs) and verify kit inventory
- Reference MPCD and custom work documentation using electronic systems
- Collaborate with the Sales team to support design opportunities within the established business model
- Fabricate, assemble, and modify metal components using shop equipment and hand tools
- Process returned manufactured products for repair, refurbishment, or restocking
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Adhere to guidelines for safety, PPE, and tool use
- Read and follow the employee manual and Quality Policy Statement
- Wash hands when shifts are completed
Requirements
- Experience with connector layout, scribing, punching, drilling, and milling
- Strong understanding of custom metal fabrication and design principles
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and perform complex graphical layouts for wall plates, rack panels, and other metal products
- Strong time management skills and attention to detail
- Solid math and computer skills
- Proficiency with PC-based systems and electronic documentation
- Willingness to learn and use CorelDRAW or similar design software for laser engraving
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
