About the Role

The Family Wellness Suite Associate I will lead client orientation and intake for Family Wellness Suite (FWS) programming. This role manages the promotion and scheduling of clients into FWS workshops/events, including Maternal & Infant Safety Sessions and stress reduction activities. The associate will also facilitate in-house stress reduction programming and provide administrative support for inventory and deliveries of infant safety resources.

Responsibilities

  • Provide community members with an overview of the FWS programming and services available, including educational, referral, and resource opportunities.
  • Oversee the regular review and maintenance of referring streams including email accounts, phone inboxes, and other platforms like Forms, Unite Us.
  • Process client referrals from referring organizations across platforms and facilitate this workflow in a timely fashion following program protocols and using approved tools/platforms.
  • Facilitate intake with new clients to establish them into the client database via phone, text, and email as per workflow protocol.
  • Manage the promotion and scheduling of clients into appropriate FWS workshops/events, including an up-to-date FWS calendar.
  • Oversee the recruitment and maintenance of client registration into stress reduction programming.
  • Oversee the inventory of infant safety and stress reduction materials, including updating tracking sheets and following up on supply orders.
  • Lead the facilitation and management of in-house infant safety education sessions and workshops, and in-house stress reduction programming.
  • Support other Brooklyn FWS programming as well as larger FWS programming in the city as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and FWS leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or a relevant field of study.
  • Strong understanding of and commitment to birth equity and public health.
  • Experience working with community members and organizations.
  • Experience providing instruction in perinatal support (e.g., childbirth education, breastfeeding education, perinatal exercise groups, parenting classes).
  • Understanding of and experience with community development around health issues in urban, underserved neighborhoods.
  • Comfortable working in a community setting with diverse populations.
  • Strong coordination and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage projects and work independently.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and excellent interpersonal and team player skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Open to flexible work hours, including evenings and/or weekends.
  • Hold certification as a Certified Lactation Consultant or have interest in pursuing this certification.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) proficiency.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.
  • Must live in the New York City Tri-state area (NY, NJ, CT).
