Responsibilities

  • Develop and test robot software components (e.g. ROS 2 nodes) for perception, navigation, and data logging.
  • Support mapping, localization (SLAM), and autonomous navigation testing.
  • Build and improve computer vision models for object detection and scene understanding, including data collection, annotation, training, and evaluation.
  • Support deployment and optimization of models for real-time inference on edge hardware.
  • Run experiments in simulation and validate results on the physical robot.
  • Document methods, configurations, and results clearly for the team.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of robotics fundamentals and computer vision.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++ and Python.
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and reusable code following sound software engineering practices, suitable for use beyond one-off prototypes.
  • Familiarity with deep learning frameworks (e.g. PyTorch) and computer vision / multimodal models, including object detection, segmentation, and vision-language models.
  • Knowledge of vision-language-action (VLA) models is a plus.
  • Experience working in Linux and with version control (Git).
  • Experience with ROS 2.
  • Familiarity with edge AI hardware (e.g. NVIDIA Jetson) and inference optimization (TensorRT, quantization).
  • Familiarity with SLAM, navigation stacks (e.g. Nav2), or sensor fusion with LiDAR and depth cameras.
  • Experience with robotics simulation (Gazebo, Isaac Sim).
  • Ability to work independently and communicate technical results clearly.
  • Applicants must submit their GitHub profiles alongside resumes.
  • Comfort operating in a high-voltage industrial test lab under supervised safety protocols.
