About the Role

Blue Moon Metals Inc. is seeking an experienced and strategic Finance Director to lead the Company's financial management, reporting, and treasury across international operations. This role is crucial for supporting executive decision-making, ensuring financial compliance, strengthening internal controls, and providing financial leadership as the company advances its mining projects and growth initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Company's financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial modeling processes.
  • Provide strategic financial analysis and recommendations to support executive and operational decision-making.
  • Partner with senior leadership to evaluate business performance, capital allocation, and growth opportunities.
  • Support financing activities, investor relations initiatives, and corporate development projects.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS mandatory, US GAAP desirable) for a publicly listed company (TSX and Nasdaq).
  • Ensure timely and accurate management reporting for executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
  • Coordinate external audits and serve as the primary liaison with auditors and financial advisors.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, tax, public company, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting and treasury activities to support ongoing operations and project development.
  • Monitor liquidity requirements and optimize working capital management.
  • Support banking relationships, financing arrangements, and foreign exchange management across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Establish and maintain effective financial controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance standards and corporate policies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, reporting processes, and operational efficiencies.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to finance team members.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Support the growth and development of finance processes as the organization expands.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.
  • CPA designation required.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience within the mining, natural resources, industrial, or project-based sectors is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury management, and internal controls.
  • Experience supporting public company reporting requirements is considered a strong asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with executive leadership and influence strategic decision-making.
  • Advanced proficiency with financial systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
