About the Role
Climate Impact Partners is seeking a Due Diligence Specialist to join the Technical & Quality team. This role is crucial for upholding the integrity of carbon projects and maintaining the company's reputation for quality and credibility. You will execute and enhance project Due Diligence (DD) and risk assessment processes, staying informed about market developments.
Responsibilities
- Conduct technical screenings and due diligence assessments for diverse projects, including nature-based and engineered solutions.
- Evaluate projects against key quality criteria such as core carbon criteria, project feasibility, environmental/social integrity, and MRV.
- Support the definition and application of quality criteria to ensure process consistency and continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate DD data and documentation, and support DD pipeline tracking and reporting.
- Engage with ratings agencies and external partners to strengthen project evaluations.
- Monitor changes in voluntary carbon standards and methodologies, contributing insights to risk management.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in the voluntary carbon market with direct involvement in technical assessment or due diligence of carbon projects, or equivalent academic experience (Master's/PhD).
- Experience in nature-based and/or engineered solutions; experience or knowledge of improved household technology solutions is desirable.
- Experience reviewing Project Design Documents and monitoring reports for leading standards is desirable.
- Strong understanding of key project quality factors (additionality, baselines, permanence, leakage, rights, risks, impacts).
- Familiarity with relevant data sources and analytical tools for project evaluation.
- Experience with GIS mapping tools is highly desirable.
- Comfortable with unfamiliar problems and acquiring new skills.
- Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and geographies.
- Strong time management, organization, and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Demonstrable comfort using AI tools for efficiency.
