About the Role
Joseph Gallagher is seeking a Contracts Manager to oversee commercial and contractual aspects of projects, ensuring successful delivery while adhering to quality and safety standards. This role involves managing site teams, subcontractors, and maintaining accurate records for cost substantiation and variations.
Responsibilities
- Manage contract administration and commercial aspects of projects.
- Oversee project delivery and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Conduct negotiations and provide regular reporting on project status.
- Manage and supervise site teams and subcontractors.
- Oversee subcontractor selection and monitor on-site progress.
- Ensure strict adherence to the highest levels of Quality and Health & Safety.
- Keep management updated on site progress and commercial issues.
- Proactively assess, review, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.
- Maintain robust site records for labor, plant, materials, and staff to support cost substantiation.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for variations and additions monthly.
- Assist in the preparation of project final accounts.
- Participate in site project meetings, ensuring commercial matters are discussed and resolved.
Requirements
- Experience working within the tunnelling industry of civil engineering.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate with all internal and external partners.
- Driven and dynamic approach with a long-term career development focus.
- Previous Contracts Management experience, ideally with a Tier 2 or Tier 1 company.
- Experience in a wide variety of contracts, particularly in the industrial & commercial sector.
- Ability to prioritize multiple concurrent projects under stringent time, quality, and budgetary constraints.
- Ability to read and understand technical specifications and drawings.
- Detailed working knowledge and experience in technical elements of structural steel fabrication and erection.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 18001 & CE Marking.
- A conscientious and self-disciplined approach.
- Competent working knowledge of Word and Outlook.
- Excellent Excel skills.
- Must be able to read technical drawings and undertake site surveys.
- Minimum of 3 years of on-site experience.
- 3 years of experience working with main contractors and engineers.
- 3 years of experience with contracts.
- 5 years of experience understanding technical specifications and drawings (Preferred).
