About the Role

The Events and Marketing Officer will support the promotion of the Sutton Trust's work through events and marketing. This new role aims to expand capacity and grow external events, particularly in preparation for the Trust's 30th anniversary. The postholder will collaborate with the Marketing and Events Manager to create and manage the event schedule, ensuring the delivery of engaging online and in-person events and supporting brand and marketing activities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on a range of in-person events and webinars, including creating briefings, managing speaker and stakeholder relationships, working with venues and suppliers, and promoting events.
  • Support the development of events for the Sutton Trust's 30th anniversary.
  • Maintain an organization-wide events calendar.
  • Manage the recording of event information and engagement on Salesforce.
  • Manage digital engagement, including uploading events to the Sutton Trust YouTube channel and promoting them.
  • Create detailed event evaluation reports for internal stakeholders and funders.
  • Advise and support colleagues with marketing activities, including brand guidelines, Campaign Monitor, and Canva.
  • Strengthen the Sutton Trust brand, including tone of voice, messaging, and visual elements.
  • Support the proofing and production of cross-Trust marketing materials.
  • Support the management and development of email communications through Campaign Monitor.
  • Regularly update Communications and Research stakeholder lists.
  • Work with colleagues to maintain communications and content planning grids.
  • Track and assess event engagement across marketing platforms.
  • Write copy as required.
  • Keep up to date with sector events.
  • Feed into the wider work of the Research and Communications team.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Experience in event delivery, including in-person, online, and hybrid events.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of event management principles.
  • Understanding of branding and brand development.
  • Eye for detail and ability to work accurately to tight deadlines.
  • Sympathetic to the aims of the Trust and its mission.
  • First-class interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
  • A DBS check may be required.
