About the Role
The SAP Next Gen - Academy for Customer Success is a global development program designed for talent early in their careers, offering a three-year journey to drive accountability, enhance productivity, and foster career longevity and leadership potential. It provides a unique opportunity to build a global network, collaborate with customers to solve real business challenges, and gain hands-on experience with world-class cloud solutions.
Responsibilities
- Prospecting, qualifying, selling, and closing new business to existing and net new customers.
- Empowering customers to achieve their full potential by understanding their strategy, unique business goals, and desired outcomes.
- Driving cloud revenue growth through dedicated sales efforts to help customers solve business challenges by positioning value through solutions.
- Providing functional and technical expertise within the sales cycle as a subject matter expert.
- Participating in discovery sessions, executive meetings, and presentations.
- Delivering software demonstrations to showcase SAP’s unique value proposition.
- Participating in marketing events.
- Leading Design Thinking sessions.
- Collaborating with the broader sales team to identify whitespace opportunities at existing accounts.
- Partnering with customers post-sale to ensure they achieve ongoing business value from their SAP solutions.
- Guiding customers through the lifecycle, from onboarding and adoption to value realization, renewals, and growth.
- Driving customer satisfaction, retention, and expansion by monitoring customer health, managing key milestones, and aligning solutions to customer outcomes.
- Coordinating cross-functional resources to mitigate risk and identify optimization and upsell opportunities.
Requirements
- 2–3 years of professional experience in a quota-carrying sales environment in a technology company, OR in a role with significant exposure to business processes.
- Experience generating opportunities, qualifying leads, and managing sales pipelines across a defined territory with a proven track record of building customer relationships and articulating value propositions.
- 2-3 years of professional experience with a strong foundation in technical and business processes, exposure to relevant technologies/ solutions, and customer-facing skills.
- Technical and business process knowledge, combined with strong complex problem-solving skills, to support solution delivery and operational efficiency through hands-on experience with relevant technologies and industry-standard tools.
- 2–3 years of experience supporting customers and driving business transformation, ideally in consulting or account management.
- Proven ability to deliver strategic guidance and solutions that drive customer success and long-term value, coupled with experience in resolving issues and managing escalations to ensure satisfaction and business continuity.
- A cooperative and productive approach to working relationships, internally and externally.
- A strong ability to quickly learn new concepts, adapt to changing environments, and apply knowledge to deliver results.
- An understanding of AI fundamentals, uses, and ethics, to identify business problems solvable with AI; AI Adoption Mindset, Agentic AI Day-to-Day Practice, and Context Engineering.
- Strong Business Acumen, including demonstrated knowledge of business processes and/or industries.
- Proficiency in English and Japanese to engage with our global network.
- A curious and agile mindset, with a passion for learning and the resilience to adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Strong problem-solving, project management, and creative thinking skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and communicate ideas clearly and effectively.
- Emotional intelligence and cultural awareness that supports inclusive teamwork and thoughtful stakeholder engagement.
- A growing foundation in business acumen and emerging technologies, especially artificial intelligence, paired with a results-oriented approach and the courage to take initiative.
- Successful candidates might be required to undergo a background verification with an external vendor.
