About the Role
This role will work across the Defence sector, focusing on campaign management and execution for products including live events, membership, directory, and jobs. The ideal candidate will be outcomes-focused, balance strategy with execution, and thrive in a fast-moving environment where their work directly drives impact. This is a hands-on, high-impact role with ownership across product campaigns and conversion, working closely with marketing and content teams to convert prospect attention into purchases.
Responsibilities
- Creating and managing campaign plans to drive acquisition and retention in key segments, achieving business goals across events and digital products.
- Effectively communicating and presenting campaign plans, strategies, and updates to the team and stakeholders.
- Briefing, managing, and optimizing the output of internal teams and external resources, including agencies and freelancers.
- Writing and proofreading copy for promotional materials, ensuring adherence to brand and style guides.
- Ensuring all promotional marketing materials are tailored towards key avatars/personas.
- Using business intelligence, customer feedback, and insight to suggest and implement new campaign ideas.
- Owning all marketing reporting, from weekly KPIs and forecasts to post-event analysis and recommendations.
- Managing the product marketing budget with support from the Head of Marketing.
- Identifying key industry trends, innovations, or technologies that can drive growth.
- Ensuring all campaign plans and deliverables are heavily influenced by customer data, research, and feedback.
- Continuously learning and implementing knowledge about the Defence industry and marketing through various channels.
Requirements
- Proven track record of delivering growth.
- Ability to manage the role as the campaign evolves.
- Ability to focus on the "big picture" when developing campaign plans.
- Ability to manage and focus the team on campaign delivery.
- Ability to provide status updates and recommendations for campaign adjustments.
- Experience managing agencies, freelancers, and team members not directly managed.
Skills
- Excellent knowledge of best practices across email, social media, paid media, landing pages, websites, and chatbots (ideally with depth in 2-3 channels).
- Excellent direct response copywriter and copy editor.
- Experience creating and delivering campaigns across multiple marketing channels.
- Exceptional project management skills – organized, proactive, and able to multi-task.
- Knowledge of marketing performance metrics and optimization tactics.
- Excellent communicator – great verbal and written communication skills that can translate campaign strategies simply to various stakeholders and team members.
- Obsessed with feedback – ability to deliver and receive feedback.
- Critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills – driven to understand "why" and takes initiative to identify trends and gaps.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize relevant tasks.
- Experience with marketing technology including email marketing automation, CRM, social media management, website analytics, chatbots, and more.
- Excellent ability to work with data sets, interpret trends, and provide analysis and recommendations based on data.
- Proven ability to learn new tools and software quickly and independently.
- Highly proactive, initiating attitude – able to take prompt action to accomplish objectives and goals, with energy and tenacity to address bottlenecks and barriers.
