About the Role
Block by Block provides cleaning, safety, beautification, and hospitality services to make cities more desirable destinations. This role offers high visibility at the street level, carrying out various tasks to improve the appearance of assigned service districts.
Responsibilities
- Circulate through assigned work zone completing manual and/or mechanical cleaning.
- Operate large hot water power unit to clean sidewalks, plazas, street furniture, and other areas.
- Operate ATLV or litter vacuum to sweep up litter, debris, and leaves.
- Follow all safety protocols to safeguard equipment, vehicles, and pedestrians.
- Troubleshoot and perform basic daily maintenance on equipment.
- Report issues to supervisor immediately.
- Observe and report unwanted behaviors or criminal activity via two-way radio, providing accurate descriptions.
- Engage pedestrians with friendly greetings and provide directions or city information.
- Provide written reports via SMART system of infrastructure issues and graffiti.
- Create basic daily reports of inspections, accomplishments, and tasks completed.
- Maintain a positive, professional environment in compliance with applicable laws and company standards.
Requirements
- Must be able to work outdoors.
- Must be able to stand, stoop, walk and bend when pressure washing.
- Must have a clean driver's license.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to use cleaning chemicals and follow product instructions.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language.
