About the Role

Following Amberside Advisors’ recent partnership with Steer and to support our future growth plans, we are looking to strengthen our team with the appointment of an experienced Project / Corporate Finance professional. This role will be crucial in securing new transaction mandates, leading teams in project delivery and helping to enhance the technical skills of junior members of the team. This role represents a huge opportunity for the candidate to leverage the skills within the business and reputation of Amberside Advisors in the marketplace.

Responsibilities

Play a critical role in winning and delivering Financial Advisory / transaction mandates ranging from greenfield financings to refinancings alongside Buyside & Sellside M&A on Infrastructure, Renewable Energy and Energy Transition assets.
Lead day-to-day Financial Advisory support to clients on transactions.
Conduct initial client screening, draft Teasers and Information Memorandums, perform Funding Competitions, coordinate advisors, and close both Debt and Equity transactions.
Manage several complex client engagements or components independently.
Manage commercial aspects of individual engagements to achieve desired levels of quality and profitability.
Execute projects and maintain a review process to ensure high-quality standards.
Engage in business development to grow new sectors, clients, and markets.
Specialize and contribute to a practice area, developing and maintaining industry knowledge and demonstrating sound knowledge of economic, political, and market trends.
Provide commercial/pertinent sector knowledge on project specifics to junior staff and feedback knowledge gaps to senior management.
Ensure relevant project team members accurately charge time to proposal/engagement codes to assess project profitability.
Pass on pertinent market/client knowledge to senior management and colleagues to aid knowledge development.
Understand clients’ needs and translate them into a scope.
Deliver timely and quality outputs, communicating risks and issues early.
Hold/attend reviews upon project completion to identify lessons learned and enhance future performance.
Engage in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to maintain professional status/accreditation.
Meet deadlines throughout the Performance Development Cycle, including seeking feedback, goal setting, and providing input into project reviews.
Take action to ensure employee wellbeing is actively managed.
Exhibit role model behavior in line with Amberside Advisors values.
Build constructive working relationships across the team and with Steer colleagues.
Participate in team meetings to support resource allocation.
Take ownership of complex projects.

Effectively manage director expectations of project outcomes.
Develop the team through continuous mentoring.
Work to deadlines, prioritize workload, support wider team members, and provide conscientious service.
Act as a trusted advisor to clients.

Requirements

Knowledge of the Lender market and investor sphere in the UK.
Exceptional commercial acumen.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
Practiced at communicating complex information clearly and concisely.
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to translate this to/from an Excel model.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work and communicate effectively as part of a team.
Skilled at coping well under pressure from competing priorities and interruptions.
Driving curiosity to solve client problems and respond to challenges.
Able to apply research skills to solve new issues and make improvements.

About the Company

Amberside Advisors specialise in providing project finance consultancy, and financial and commercial advisory services to public and private sector organisations involved in Infrastructure, Energy and Energy Transition projects.
Services include financial and commercial advisory support to transactions including Debt & Equity raises, Buyside and Sellside M&A, Refinancing, Due Diligence, financial model development, model audit and training.
Have worked on more than 2,500 projects across a wide range of sectors and global locations with well-known companies.
