About the Role

As a Senior SAP IS-U ABAP Developer, you will develop, maintain, and optimize ABAP applications within the SAP Utilities environment (SAP IS-U, S/4HANA Utilities). You will analyze and design technical solutions for grid operators and utility companies, independently implement projects in close collaboration with business departments and IT consultants, and contribute to migration and integration projects related to the energy transition, market communication, and digitalization. Your role will also involve participating in technical workshops, architecture design, and quality assurance.

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and optimize ABAP applications in the SAP Utilities environment (SAP IS-U, S/4HANA Utilities).
Analyze and design technical solutions for grid operators and utility companies.
Independently implement projects in close collaboration with business departments and IT consultants.
Participate in migration and integration projects related to the energy transition, market communication, and digitalization.
Contribute to technical workshops, architecture design, and quality assurance.

Requirements

Completed degree in Computer Science or comparable qualification.
Extensive professional experience as an ABAP developer in the SAP IS-U / S/4HANA Utilities environment, ideally with distribution network operators or energy supply companies.
Proficient knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Market Communication (GPKE, GeLi Gas, WiM Strom/Gas, IDEX/Common Layer, IDEX-Exits), Billing (SLP/RLM Billing, Tarification, Convergent Invoicing (CI), Grid Usage Billing), Device & Metering (Device Management, EDM/Time Series, Profile Management), Balancing & Market (MaBiS, AS4/MaKo 2.0, IDoc/EDIFACT), FI-CA / Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable (VKK), S/4HANA Utilities (EMIGALL, Clean Core, Custom Code Migration).
Secure knowledge in ABAP OO, BAdIs/User Exits, and interface development (IDoc, RFC, Web Services).
Experience with debugging and error analysis (BPEM, EMMA) is advantageous.
Team player with a self-directed and solution-oriented approach.
Very good German language skills.
