About the Role
As a Commercial Advisor, you will manage and complete projects to a high standard, often serving as the client's primary point of contact. You will provide expert commercial, market, and technical knowledge, specializing in a practice area while managing project resources collaboratively. This role involves growing the Commercial Advisory practice, particularly in Renewables, by demonstrating strong client management skills, providing commercial advice on energy infrastructure transactions, and driving business development activities.
Responsibilities
- Manage and complete several complex client engagements or proposals independently.
- Build relationships with new clients and understand their needs to generate attractive proposals.
- Manage the commercial aspects of engagements to achieve desired quality and profitability.
- Execute projects and maintain a review process to ensure high-quality standards.
- Provide technical knowledge to junior staff and identify knowledge gaps for senior management.
- Specialize and contribute to a practice area, developing industry knowledge and staying current with market trends.
- Contribute to creating innovative solutions that strengthen business performance and client reputation.
- Manage scope and deliver timely, quality deliverables with regular client communication.
- Communicate risks and issues early to appropriate colleagues and clients.
- Hold/attend project completion reviews to identify lessons learned.
- Work on CPD to maintain professional status/accreditation.
- Meet deadlines throughout the Performance Development Cycle, including goal setting and providing input into reviews.
Requirements
- Experience of working in a commercial consulting role or commercial/development role within a corporate or investment company.
- Experience in delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably in the low carbon energy sector, including commercial development and financing.
- Experience of project management, business case development, report writing, due diligence, risk and opportunity analysis.
- Client-facing experience in developing proposals and providing technical knowledge and expertise.
- Self-motivated, team player, and adaptable.
- Ability to work to deadlines, prioritize workload, and provide a high level of service.
- Ability to manage complexity.
- Passionate about decarbonisation and infrastructure investment.
- Driving curiosity to solve client problems.
- Belief in solving energy and climate challenges.
- Passion for understanding financial drivers of projects.
- Intellectual and communication skills to help clients understand financial drivers.
