About the Role

KBR is seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Manager to join our Australia Defence and Security Solutions (ADSS) team. You will play a critical role in supporting both the ADSS Commercial Function and project delivery teams through strategic commercial oversight and contractual management. This is a senior role requiring strong commercial acumen, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to manage complex and high-value contractual arrangements across multiple concurrent initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop negotiation strategies, and review and manage contracts to effectively mitigate risks and maximise opportunities.
  • Manage client concerns or issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Negotiate key subcontracts, ensuring appropriate flow downs, addressing risks, and incorporating compensation provisions from the contract.
  • Draft and create contract terms to ensure alignment with project requirements and organisational standards.
  • Provide support to projects by overseeing all commercial aspects of affiliated contracts.
  • Ensure fulfillment of contract requirements and interface with internal business functions to guarantee and assure contract compliance.
  • Utilise specialised knowledge and skills to solve complex and unique problems related to commercial and procurement activities.
  • Evaluate and manage project commercial risks, ensuring alignment with KBR’s internal policies. This includes overseeing finance, insurance, controls, estimating, compliance, and procurement activities within the project.
  • Collaborate with internal business functions to provide comprehensive support to projects. This involves interfacing with various stakeholders to address project requirements and challenges.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in leading commercial negotiations (essential)
  • Well-developed communication skills
  • Experienced user of MS Office products.
  • All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active Baseline Defence Security Clearance. Only candidates holding a Baseline Clearance or above should apply.
  • Compliance to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
