About the Role
As a Shift Leader based in Sydney, you will lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, efficient, and high-performing operations within a highly automated distribution centre. You will drive excellence in health and safety, productivity, and equipment performance while acting as the key point of contact for technical and operational issues.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily shift operations to ensure high system performance and minimal downtime
- Monitor and resolve technical and operational issues in real time
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using data insights and performance metrics
- Oversee CMMS reporting and ensure accurate maintenance tracking
- Set, monitor, and achieve KPIs across safety, productivity, and service delivery
- Ensure smooth shift handovers and conduct root cause analysis on system issues
- Maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Develop team capability through coaching, mentoring, and structured development plans
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence
- Support reliability and performance of automated material handling systems
Requirements
- Qualification in mechanical, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Proven experience leading teams in an automated or technical environment
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret system data and diagnostics
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage escalations and act as a key technical point of contact
- A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
- Must pass ID checks to verify work entitlements in Australia
- Must complete pre-employment and medical checks
