About the Role
You will strengthen our highly motivated team of experts in the fight against cybersecurity threats. Together with Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) and Network Engineers, you will plan and operate our state-of-the-art defense platforms, which are the backbone for protecting our hosting products and infrastructures.
Responsibilities
- Administration and troubleshooting of highly available, complex infrastructures, including participation in an on-call rotation.
- Further development and optimization of distributed DDoS defense platforms and associated analysis and visualization mechanisms.
- Monitoring of systems, analysis of security attacks, and active tracking of current industry and security trends.
- Evaluation of new technologies and products, as well as development and implementation of new features for international setups.
- Support of company goals through efficient operating architecture, active lifecycle management, and lean processes in an agile DevOps environment.
- Conception, setup, and further development of CI/CD pipelines and supporting technical processes.
Requirements
- Completed degree in computer science, a comparable qualification, or vocational training.
- Several years of experience in administering complex, distributed Linux systems.
- Strong interest in cybersecurity and sound network knowledge.
- Demonstrable experience in configuring and operating Nginx as a reverse proxy or Web Application Firewall.
- Hands-on experience implementing BGP, Flowspec, and Anycast routing on Linux systems and network routers.
- Passion for automation with tools like Ansible, Puppet, and Python.
- Strong analytical skills for evaluating DDoS attacks, implementing effective countermeasures, and continuously improving defense platforms.
- Proficient English language skills (written and spoken).
- Experience with technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, ClickHouse, or the ELK stack is a plus.
- Enthusiasm for open-source technologies, especially Linux.
