About the Role

Popli Design Group (PDG) is seeking a Transportation Construction Inspector - NICET II to join their growing team. This role involves inspecting and documenting contractor work on diverse transportation projects such as highways and bridges, performing on-site material testing, conducting field measurements, and gathering data for progress reports and payment estimates.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect progress of basic construction operations (Earthwork, Pavement, Structural Components, Scaffolding…)
  • Verify conformance of material with Standard Specifications by carrying out field tests (Concrete, Compaction…)
  • Interpret documented characteristics of objects and materials used in construction
  • Recognize unsafe construction procedures and site conditions.
  • Inspect erosion control and protection of environmental features and utilities.
  • Identify measured and/or tested properties and provide appropriate notification(s) and Report(s).

Requirements

  • Good Organizational Skills.
  • Written and Verbal Communication Skills.
  • Attention to Detail.
  • Microsoft Suite and a willingness and ability to learn new software.
  • Ability to Multi-task.
  • Prior experience with a Transportation Agency (NYSDOT, NYSTA…)
  • A Valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) is required.

  • Pay rate varies between projects and location and are dictated by contract rates and titles. Overall compensation factors in experience, location and contract rates.
