About the Role
This strategic design role provides independent design expertise at critical project stages, helping teams make informed decisions and navigate complex challenges to improve project outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Review design documentation and provide technical insight across key project stages
- Identify opportunities to improve design outcomes, buildability and project performance
- Support teams in navigating complex design challenges and driving informed decision making
- Partner with internal teams and external consultants to strengthen design approaches
- Contribute to continuous improvement of design management processes across the business
Requirements
- Strong technical foundation, broad project experience and the ability to influence, mentor and guide others through complex design challenges
- Significant experience in design management within commercial construction across multiple building typologies
- A background in architecture, engineering, or similar, with strong technical grounding
- A deep understanding of NCC, building codes and other legislative requirements
- A broad, holistic view of projects — beyond a single discipline
- The ability to influence and challenge constructively, even in complex or sensitive situations
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with a collaborative and diplomatic approach
- Curiosity, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn
