About the Role

UTS College is seeking an Academic Teacher for the Diploma of Design Architecture on a sessional basis. This role involves teaching, general academic duties, and team liaison to ensure quality educational delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, deliver, and facilitate tutorials and workshops as outlined in the curriculum.
  • Grade assignments, tests, examinations, and other assessment items.
  • Provide detailed, timely, and meaningful feedback to students.
  • Perform teaching-related duties including preparation, administration of student records, and informal consultations.
  • Provide early learning support and referrals to Study Success Advisors.
  • Participate in professional development activities in consultation with the Academic Coordinator and Program Manager.
  • Attend staff and subject meetings as required.
  • Complete special assignments under the direction of the Program Manager.
  • Establish communication channels with Academic Coordinators, Study Success Advisors, Program Manager, and colleagues.
  • Participate in moderation activities.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree (doctoral qualifications preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in industry practice or post-graduate qualifications in a related field.
  • Relevant demonstrated experience of teaching in a higher education environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to innovative learning and teaching practices, including a willingness to engage with contemporary approaches to content delivery.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple demands to meet deadlines whilst ensuring accuracy.
  • A NSW Working With Children’s Check.
