About the Role
As a Senior Fire Protection Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of design excellence, leading fire protection strategies across diverse and exciting projects. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior engineers, and help drive our Sydney office’s growth and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Lead fire protection design (wet and dry systems) across complex projects, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards, NCC, and client expectations.
- Drive innovation and best practice in fire protection engineering, delivering high-quality documentation and cost-effective solutions.
- Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, representing WSP with confidence and professionalism.
- Identify new opportunities and contribute to business development in the Sydney market.
- Mentor junior engineers and foster a collaborative, supportive team culture.
- Bring fresh thinking and a proactive mindset to every challenge.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or equivalent) with 6+ years of experience in building services projects in Australia.
- Strong technical expertise in fire protection design and documentation.
- Familiarity with BIM tools such as Revit MEP and NavisWorks.
- Consulting experience preferred, or candidates from D&C backgrounds ready for a senior consulting role.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to connect with people.
- A positive, energetic attitude and a genuine passion for engineering.
