About the Role
The Application Platform team helps turn IMC software into running applications by developing and operating scalable, self-service systems and tools. These systems configure, distribute, deploy, upgrade, and operate trading and supporting components globally. The team uses stakeholder input to design and implement creative solutions for managing tens of thousands of services and applications.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-performance, globally distributed Go applications.
- Collaborate with teammates, stakeholders, and internal customers across local and global teams.
- Partner with customers to understand their needs and design platform capabilities that help them configure, deploy, and operate software more effectively.
- Support customers, unblock teams, and turn recurring issues into platform improvements.
- Own the end-to-end service lifecycle, from requirements gathering and implementation to deployment, operation, and continuous improvement.
- Help operate and support the team's systems during Sydney business hours.
- Use automated testing and frequent deployments to deliver high-quality features quickly and iteratively.
- Balance trade-offs between latency, throughput, simplicity, scalability, reliability, and maintainability in a complex technology landscape.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Proficiency in a programming language (Go, Python, or Java).
- Strong analytical skills and interest in solving complex problems programmatically.
- Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Linux environments.
- Exposure to distributed computing and modern cloud-native software design.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- DevOps mindset and comfort working across the entire application lifecycle.
- Curiosity and a willingness to learn about financial markets or trading.
