About the Role

For a leading infrastructure and energy project, we are seeking an experienced Procurement Cost Manager (m/f/d) to take responsibility for the economic control of complex procurement and supplier structures in strategically important CAPEX projects. In this role, you will work on large-volume onshore and offshore projects in the energy transition sector and support the optimization of costs, risks, and procurement strategies throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Analysis and evaluation of procurement processes with EPCI suppliers, especially for services with flexible pricing (Cost+ and index-based models)
  • Support and guidance of tenders and integration of results into open-book procurement procedures
  • Strategic selection, negotiation, and integration of sub-suppliers into international project structures
  • Management and coordination of relevant internal and external stakeholders, including purchasing, controlling, project management, technical departments, and suppliers
  • Responsibility for interface management between purchasing, controlling, project management, and external partners to ensure economically successful project progress
  • Identification, evaluation, and mitigation of cost, budget, and schedule risks in complex investment projects
  • Early identification of technical deviations and support in avoiding costly change orders and claims
  • Advising claim management on the evaluation and validation of claims in complex contract and supplier structures
  • Monitoring project progress with a focus on cost development, budget adherence, and risk management
  • Analysis of supplier purchasing and procurement plans regarding possible impacts on schedule and project budget
  • Development and implementation of project-specific processes, standards, and best practices
  • Creation of target-group-oriented reports, management dashboards, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders

Requirements

  • Completed degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Project Management, or a comparable field
  • Several years of professional experience in Procurement Cost Management, Commercial Management, Project Controls, or Cost Engineering within complex investment projects
  • Sound knowledge of EPCI contracts and experience with open-book, Cost+, or index-based contract models
  • Experience in collaborating with international supplier and sub-supplier structures
  • Strong commercial understanding and knowledge of cost, risk, and contract management
  • Ability to analyze complex issues in a structured manner and communicate them effectively
  • Confident stakeholder management at various hierarchical levels
  • Fluent German and English language skills
