About the Role

Shapes and executes an overall marketing strategy for the Japan market relative to all relevant Sales Distributions in Hawaii and Asia Pacific. Directs Field Marketing in Japan and organizes market-specific programs. Ensures all marketing channels are optimized for Cost per Guest (CPG) and Volume per Guest (VPG) and manages marketing costs to achieve budget goals. Evaluates past programs and develops new ones to generate tours and meet goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate strategies to grow tour flow for the Japan Market, supporting sales distribution in Japan and Hawaii.
  • Provide strategic support to grow distribution in Japan based on SVP/VP direction.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans including budget considerations, site goals, and forecasts.
  • Identify cost savings by leveraging existing resources for cross-market synergy.
  • Leverage partnership opportunities into meaningful tour production programs.
  • Coordinate with Call Centre for consistent pricing and communications regarding previews.
  • Develop tour generation program initiatives (e.g., Linkage, Encore, OPC, Outreach, Owner Events, Roadshows, off-site locations, travel partner promotions).
  • Collect and analyze competitive intelligence to enhance marketing strategy.
  • Manage and implement appropriate marketing mix between Local Marketing and CMD to ensure attainment of overall marketing costs.
  • Set tour slots and wave times to maximize tour production and show rate.
  • Ensure other Departments (Sales, NOA) are updated on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure guest tour flow is efficient and conducive to sales presentation discussions and purchase deliberations.
  • Monitor guest experience survey data, publish results, and follow up.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with Site and Regional leaders to ensure monthly tour flow is on target.
  • Implement immediate solutions if tour flow is not on target.
  • Use reports on individual and team production performance.
  • Conduct performance and cost analysis of past programs/events and make recommendations.
  • Conduct competitive market analysis.
  • Monitor Budget versus Actual Results (BUVARS) by department and channel.
  • Prepare summaries of results for management.
  • Monitor reports across channels to determine focus for generating tours.
  • Negotiate contracts and work with vendors.
  • Discuss action plans with the sales department to ensure vendor partnerships drive sales.
  • Build and maintain relationships between sales management and the marketing department.
  • Share marketing information and strategy with the sales force.
  • Coordinate with sales management on addressing guest eligibility issues and tracking trends.
  • Build partnerships with resort operations, hotel linkage, OPC vendors, etc.
  • Coordinate and prepare quarterly business objectives with Project Sales Manager Lead.
  • Prepare for and conduct team meetings.
  • Measure the performance of marketing executives/team leaders against goals.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching and mentoring to team associates.
  • Reward and recognize associate performance.
  • Motivate associates to increase production and performance.
  • Observe and identify associate areas of strength and development opportunities.
  • Develop and/or update sales training manuals and sales process enhancements.
  • Conduct formal performance reviews and create individual development plans, career paths, and promotion development plans.
  • Manage associate performance, developing performance plans for associates below expectation.
  • Identify and respond to the needs/questions/issues brought forth by team associates.
  • Mediate conflict in and between teams.
  • Provide guidelines for empowering associates to make decisions regarding guest experience and service issues.
  • Deliver and coordinate various training programs.
  • Develop and review policies and procedures pertaining to work flow, lead distribution, reward, recognition, and discipline.
  • Create awareness and understanding of policies and procedures for conducting business.
  • Participate in recruiting.
  • Participate in selection processes.
  • Develop compensation plans for marketing teams that maximize production.
  • Understand and abide by state and federal regulations around marketing activity.
  • Update plans and actions to prepare for management meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Previous senior level Timeshare Marketing Management experience with the Japan market is required.
  • Experience with other timeshare markets in Asia Pacific and North America is an advantage.
