About the Role
Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly dorm by effectively managing student behavior and conduct.
Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate accountability of students present for duty.
- Provide counseling and guidance to students on attitude, behavior, and interpersonal relationships.
- Monitor student activity and ensure appropriate behavior.
- Direct students and assist during dorm maintenance and cleanup.
- Provide students with training in independent living and leadership skills.
- Reinforce positive behaviors and hold students accountable for negative behaviors.
- Maintain shift logs, enter data into the center information system, and report incidents to supervisors.
- Support dorm supervisor, counselors, and team members in providing case management services.
- Act as a team member by completing assigned shift duties and communicating shift-specific information.
- Act as an advisor to student peer counselors.
Requirements
- Must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Skills
- Ability to relate to and work with disadvantaged youth.
- Proven customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to meet frequent deadlines and handle stressful, hectic situations without loss of efficiency and composure.
- Proficient in using computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
